OUR STORY
Marokini is an Australian swimwear brand founded by a mother deeply immersed in the design world, driven by the desire to empower women and mothers to feel beautiful and confident by the water. It all began with a simple idea born out of personal struggle – battling with body weight and the frustration of finding swimwear that felt comfortable and flattering, she determined to create a solution, she tapped into her design skills and began crafting swimwear to suits her needs.
Inspired by her own experiences, she recognized the widespread struggle among mothers to find swimwear that combined comfort, modest coverage, elegant and functional. Like many, she longed to enjoy precious moments with her child by the beach and pool, but feelings of self-consciousness often held her back from capturing these memories. With a mission to empower women and mothers to feel beautiful and confident by the water, Marokini was born.
She set out to create and redefine bikini into Marokini - her type of bikini that suits her body, mind, and values, that embodies comfort, modesty,and elegance. In aim to change the norm of compromising style for comfort or resorting to oversized t-shirts and gym shorts at the beach, she wants every mother to be able to embrace joyous moments with their children, whether they’re building sandcastles or capturing memories, all while feeling secure, beautiful, confident and comfortable by the water in their own Marokini.
THE JOURNEY
This journey unfolded naturally, leading to the creation of conceptual swimwear that echoed her own experiences and desires. Marokini's mission became crystal clear: to craft swimwear that was not only stylish and timeless but also provided excellent coverage, shaping, and top-notch sun protection—all while instilling self-assurance and tranquility.
After attending numerous fashion manufacturing exhibitions and engaging in countless discussions with manufacturers, she finally found a partner who resonated with her design vision and shared her mission. The excitement peaked when she received the first sample from the manufacturer and saw her besties wearing the swimwear. It dawned on her that this was no longer just a personal project; it had the potential to make a real difference for women facing similar struggles.
She continued to test the designs on her own body, gathering feedback from close friends and family along the way. Through nearly 18 rounds of prototype revisions, the final four fully customized swimwear design emerged, each one a testament to her dedication and commitment to creating something truly special.
With unwavering confidence, she believed that if the design looked good on her, it would undoubtedly look good on anyone. And thus, Marokini was ready to empower women everywhere to feel confident, beautiful, and comfortable in their own skin.

DESIGN DIRECTION
Marokini's ethos embraces the dynamic changes that occur in a woman's body, especially postpartum, rejecting the notion that motherhood should hinder one's enjoyment of water activities. Instead, Marokini aims to harmonize modesty and elegance, crafting swimwear that celebrates feminine curves with contemporary, bold designs, while prioritizing body shaping and slimming.
Their creative vision encompasses:

MAROKINI'S BELIEF
"Maro" originates from various languages where it translates to "mine," indicating possession or ownership. "Kini" is derived from "bikini," a term universally recognized as a type of swimwear.
So, when combined, "Marokini" is interpreted as "my bikini" or "bikini of mine." It suggests a sense of personal ownership or attachment to the swimwear, perhaps emphasizing the idea that the wearer feels a strong connection to the garment.
Marokini believes in the transformative power of small, incremental steps, recognizing that even seemingly minor actions can lead to significant outcomes. Consistent effort and progress over time, acknowledging that gradual changes can ultimately result in profound impact and positive change.
Furthermore, Marokini values innovation and embraces the attitude of "just do it.", in aim to encourages women to take action with or without hesitation or fear of failure. Marokini hope to empowers women to explore new ideas, challenge conventional norms, and push boundaries in pursuit of their goals and aspirations.
